Sandra is a Chartered & Registered Counselling Psychologist with more than 20 years of experience in the field of mental health, working in the NHS, voluntary sector and in private practice. Her approach to therapeutic practice is integrative, informed by cognitive behavioural, schema and existential models, also incorporating systemic principles & motivational interviewing techniques.
Working with adults and adolescents, Sandra offers individual and group therapy, for most psychological presentations. She has a special interest working with trauma specifically victims of crime including sexual & domestic violence. She also has an interest in outdoor therapy.
As an integrative practitioner, Sandra endeavours to work with a holistic approach incorporating spirituality in therapy and this outlook motivated her exploration of, ‘The Effects of Spirituality on Psychotherapy’ in her MA thesis. She has worked at Crossroads Counselling Service, a Christian organization, promoting an integrative approach to psychotherapy.
Sandra also has an interest in the effects of the diaspora experience. She facilitates ‘Stranger in a Strange Land’ workshops exploring the effects of migration on psyche and spirit to promote wellbeing.
