Thomas is a full-time British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) registered Psychodynamic Psychotherapist. He has been in the field of helping people make sense of the complex thoughts, emotions and behaviour they experience since 2004. He trained and worked in Pastoral Counselling before further training and qualification as a Psychodynamic Psychotherapist.
His past experience includes working as a therapist in the NHS, University settings and with NGOs (Non-Government Organisations). Currently, he also offers his time and expertise with MBT (Mentalisation-Based Therapy) for patients diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder and Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder within the NHS secondary care in South London. He runs a full-time private practice in Central London offering long-term psychotherapy for individuals.
Alongside providing individual psychotherapy, Thomas offers professional training for clergy, pastors, counsellors, psychotherapists and community workers. His past portfolio includes training staff at Universities on handling grief and loss in the workplace, therapeutic trainings for clergy, and has taught on sexual addiction, trauma, abuse and borderline personality disorders in various conferences in the UK and overseas including the USA, Denmark, Belgium and Finland.
Thomas has had a lifelong interest in the integration of Christianity and Psychoanalytical thinking in his work. His areas of expertise include working with grief and loss, depression, sexual addiction, trauma, spirituality and borderline personality disorders. He is on the BPC register and the Professional Standards Authority Accredited Register. He is also a professional member of the Association of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in the NHS (APP).
