Ms Philomena Chipman

Philomena is an accredited counsellor with BACP, with more than 17 years of experience in education and mental health. She has lived and worked for significant periods on four continents. She is highly experienced in multi-cultural situations including working with Christian overseas workers/teams and Christian NGO’s. Currently she is in private practice in London.

Philomena’s counselling is person-centred and integrative. She combines different counselling models in her work. Utilising insights from a psychodynamic approach, Philomena also integrates other methods such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, and Narrative Therapy as needed. Her approach is underpinned by Attachment Theory. When working with couples, Philomena uses Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples, and is currently working towards certification as an EFT Therapist.

Philomena works with individuals with a broad range of psychological presentations including, anxiety and depression, grief and relationship difficulties. She is very interested in working with couples as well as having a special interest in working with recovered addicts exiting 12-step programs.
