Ms Sandra Mtandabari
Sandra is a Chartered & Registered Counselling Psychologist with more than 25 years working across the life span with children and families, couples, adolescents and adults and groups. She offers therapy for most psychological presentations, as well as expert witness services.
She has worked with the National Health Service (NHS), Ministry of Defence (MOD), Police Forces, Non-Government Organisations (NGO) and Charites such as Save the Children, Voluntary Sector and in Private Practice.
She has a particular interest in trauma work, and was involved with the response team supporting the victims of the Grenfell Tower fire in London. She has worked with Victim Support and Oasis (Orphans & Vulnerable children) in Africa. Sandra facilitates ‘Stranger in a Strange Land’ workshops exploring the effects of migration on psyche and spirit to promote psychological wellbeing.
Her approach to therapeutic practice is integrative, informed by cognitive behavioural, schema and existential models, also incorporating systemic principles & motivational interviewing techniques. As an integrative practitioner, she endeavours to work with a holistic approach, to ensure all the existential dimensions (psychological, physical, social & spiritual) are addressed at the assessment and treatment of clients.
Training, Workshops, Consultancy and Supervision
Sandra provides bespoke training packages, clinical supervision and consultancy to a range of professionals, including psychologists, church leaders, counsellors, social workers and nurses.
